A milestone moment…

The Lowesmoor urban regeneration project is a landmark £75m mixed use development in the heart of Worcester. Built on the site of the historic former vinegar works and porcelain factory, Lowesmoor comprises shops, restaurants, offices and leisure outlets together with a flagship, 41,000 sq.ft. Asda superstore at its centre.

Power On Connections had a dual involvement in this project. Firstly, the enabling contractor, Vinci Construction appointed the team to provide an 800KVA substation for a new TA Barracks facility. Secondly, Power On Connections was engaged by main contractor, Carillion Richardson, to provide the electrical infrastructure for the new development, incorporating Asda. Working to a performance brief, the in-house team designed and installed three High Voltage (HV) substations which facilitated a total load in excess of 2.1MVA. The complex project required detailed planning by Power On Connections design team as part of the buildings, including the entrance, are listed and had to remain in their original condition.

We had a good working relationship with Power On Connections throughout the contract - their team’s expertise and assistance helped to complete the store on time, which will mark a milestone in the regeneration of this area of the city. Carillion Project Team
