Ellesmere Shopping Centre

A new destination...

Located just seven miles to the North West of Manchester City Centre, Ellesmere Shopping Centre is a major regeneration project set to transform the existing centre into a multi-million pound mixed use scheme. The redevelopment is anchored by a new Tesco superstore, which is being billed as the largest in Europe. Power On Connections was appointed to provide the complete electricity package, which included removing all existing electrical supplies, off-site works from site to the HV (High Voltage) point of connection onto the local (ENW) network and the provision of six substations and all associated infrastructure, cabling and service points to feed the network for all units. Completing this work involved negotiating a complex off-site route to avoid two, 100 year-old cast iron viaducts which are part of Manchester’s main water supply.

The electricity infrastructure for the Ellesmere Shopping Centre scheme required an experienced team that could deliver an inventive solution, to budget and on deadline. Power On Connections' Project Managers were amenable, reliable and informative – we will definitely use them again. Richard Gaukrodger, Caddick Construction (main contractor).
