In the de-regulated new connections market place, certain activities that were previously undertaken by the local utility as monopolies are now classified as being open to competition—or ‘contestable’.

The construction of the off-site works in the public highway is now fully contestable throughout the country and as such can be undertaken directly on your behalf by specialist companies that have satisfied the strict requirements of the industry validation and accreditation scheme administered by Lloyds.

Power On staff are fully trained in accordance with the requirements of the New Roads and Street Works Act and every part of the process from design through to final commissioning is covered by comprehensive procedures.

We work closely with the local authority and highways agency to ensure a coordinated approach to highway excavations and reinstatement.

In most cases the main contractor takes on the role of principal contractor for the on site works but they do not normally take the role of principal contractor for the off site. All project management staff are trained to IOSH standards and we have the capabilities to fulfil the duties under he CDM Regulations as the principle contractor.
